Player-first Web3 gaming studio Bloxmith has rolled out the open beta version for its 1v1 squad battler mobile game, Raiders Rumble.

Powered by the Flow blockchain, the game is now available for download on Google Play and the Apple App Store. Built on Flow’s blockchain technology, Raiders Rumble is an esports game that demands quick strategic decision-making to counter opponents.

The game is designed to cater to a broad audience and includes a range of tournament modes that change daily. Those who participate and rank within the top 50 percent have the chance to win in-game items or RUMB tokens, the game’s project token.

It’s worth noting that players can start playing the game without needing a crypto wallet or digital collectibles (NFTs), and those obtained in the game do not provide any advantage during battles.

Despite that, their unique features make them valuable to collectors while ensuring competitive fairness.

“For our first game, we wanted to pioneer a new type of competitive mobile strategy game that would help bridge the gap between traditional and web3 gamers.”

Wayne Lee, Bloxmith co-founder and CEO

Bloxmith was founded in December 2021 by a team of experienced gaming professionals from Riot Games, Blizzard Entertainment, Pumpkin VR and Facebook Gaming. It aims to develop player-first games that provide enjoyable gameplay even after multiple plays.

The company has secured funding from several investors, including Dapper Labs, Infinity Ventures Crypto, Vayala, Moon Holdings, SEA Pixel and Results.io.

Lee expressed his excitement about working on the Flow blockchain, citing its ability to solve scalability issues for games and digital collectibles.

He added that Flow is designed with mainstream users and brands in mind, offering frictionless onboarding, social logins and standard payment methods. He also noted that Flow is built to facilitate the transition from Web2 to Web3.

Flow has a thriving ecosystem of creators from top brands, development studios, startups and crypto leaders. Head of product at Flow, Chirag Narang, described Raiders Rumble as a game that could draw in a broad audience while showcasing the possibilities of Web3 gaming on Flow.

“Raiders Rumble is a compelling example of a mobile game that can simultaneously appeal to a mainstream audience while introducing them to the power of web3 gaming powered by Flow.”

Narang remarked that the Bloxmith team’s inventive approach to game design and player onboarding aligns with Flow’s vision and objectives for its gaming ecosystem. He added that this is part of Flow’s efforts to introduce mainstream users to the world of Web3.

Raiders Rumble’s tournament details

Bloxmith and Flow will organize three FLOW bonus tournaments for Raiders Rumble, with 120,000 FLOW tokens up for grabs.

These tournaments are designed to identify the best players of the mobile game, with each contest offering FLOW token prizes exclusively to the top 200 players.

Participating in the FLOW Bonus Tournaments requires players to pay a Crystal entry fee. Each tournament is an independent event with its own set of winners and FLOW prizes, and players have the option to join one or all of them.

The tournaments are set to take place from March 23–31. Further information can be found on the Raiders Rumble website.
