Alibaba Cloud has teamed up with blockchain platform Avalanche and Metaverse Universal Assets DAO (MUA DAO) to create Cloudverse, a service designed to help businesses launch their own metaverse spaces on Avalanche’s blockchain.

The new service was unveiled in Barcelona on May 3 during the Avalanche Summit II Conference.

The partnership will offer Alibaba Cloud’s clients a launchpad to help them customize, launch and maintain their metaverse spaces, providing them a quick and easy way to enter the metaverse market.

According to the Avalanche team, their Cloudverse platform aims to offer businesses an easy, low-cost gateway into the Web3 virtual world. This will help enterprises with limited resources to launch their platforms and gain exposure to the metaverse.

Cloudverse is designed to help businesses customize their metaverse spaces and provide various features such as visuals, metaeconomics, interactive functions, events, continued operations and more.

Raymond Xiao, Head of International Web3 Solutions for Alibaba Cloud Intelligence, shares his excitement in a blog post ahead of the metaverse launch, saying that they “are excited to offer businesses a way to kickstart their metaverse journeys and drive innovations and new possibilities for their businesses while elevating customer experiences.”

This launch will also involve the crypto architects’ community MUA DAO to join the project, which will act as a middleware provider. MUA DAO will offer a service layer that facilitates the integration and customization of the upcoming metaverses.

This partnership with MUA DAO and Avalanche can be seen as a strategic move for Alibaba Cloud. The project could help Asian enterprises adopt web3 technology, expanding their brands to the Web3 virtual world and providing them with a cost-effective way to build their own metaverse spaces.

Avalanche’s platform has the advantage of having subnets, a set of nodes that can be customized to fit an enterprise’s specific needs. The infrastructure is designed to help create customizable blockchain solutions through the Cloudverse platform, making it easy for businesses to create their own software development kits.

According to Ava Labs founder and CEO Emin Gün Sirer, the technology used to launch metaverses is “very easy,” and all of the tools needed are open-source and accessible to everyone. Sirer claims that anyone can create a metaverse within 15 minutes, and within hours, the wallet and turnkey can be up and running.

The user-friendliness of Avalance’s technology will allow people to create their metaverse spaces quickly and hassle-free while also opening the door for enterprises that want exposure to the space but don’t have the resources, skill, or time to launch these platforms.

Ongoing partnership

This project isn’t the first time Alibaba Cloud has partnered with Avalanche. Last December, Alibaba Cloud provided infrastructure and tools to help Asia-based users launch validators on the Avalanche network, offering plug-and-play and node-as-a-service initiatives to help expand blockchain adoption in Asia.

Ava Labs president John Wu said that this partnership with Cloudverse, powered by Avalanche, will offer millions of consumer-facing businesses a quick, low-overhead, one-stop gateway into Web3.

The Ava Labs president looks forward to seeing how businesses will expand into the Cloudverse and continue building the future with Alibaba Cloud, which already has approximately four million customers and 10 million developers, making it a great way for Asian users to manage and validate nodes.

Through this partnership with Cloudverse, Alibaba Cloud is expected to grow its portfolio and become an important player in the metaverse space.
